How often do they need servicing?
Every extinguisher needs an annual basic service by a competent person, with extended servicing at longer intervals depending on type, all set out in BS 5306-3. How many extinguishers does my premises need, and where?
BS 5306-8 guides the type, number and placement based on the size and use of the building and the risks present. Extinguishers should be sited on escape routes near exits and specific hazards. Our survey works out the correct provision so you are neither under-equipped nor paying for units you do not need.
Do you supply new extinguishers as well as service them?
Yes. We supply, install, service and certificate extinguishers, and we replace units that have been used, are out of date, or have failed inspection. Installation and servicing follow BS 5306-3 and BS 5306-8.
